SAN FRANCISCO: The San Francisco Giants delivered a decisive performance on Saturday, defeating the Colorado Rockies 4-0 at Oracle Park.

This triumph elevates the Giants’ record to 20-13, while the Rockies’ record now stands at 6-28.

Veteran pitcher Robbie Ray set the tone for the Giants, pitching seven scoreless innings.

Ray allowed only two hits and two walks, while striking out eight, showcasing excellent control and effectively neutralizing Colorado’s offense.

Hayden Birdsong secured the victory by pitching the final two innings, maintaining the shutout and recording one strikeout.

San Francisco’s offense ignited early, scoring all four runs in the third inning.

The scoring burst involved contributions from various players, with Matt Chapman, Wilmer Flores, and Sam Huff each driving in a run.

Heliot Ramos also had an impressive showing, going two for two with a walk.

Matt Chapman led the offensive charge, going one for four with an RBI and a run scored. LaMonte Wade Jr. and Mike Yastrzemski each contributed a hit and a run, while Jung Hoo Lee added a hit in four at-bats.

Colorado’s offense struggled, managing only three hits and drawing three walks. They were unable to take advantage of their limited opportunities, leaving runners on base.

The Giants will aim to sustain this momentum as they continue their homestand, while the Rockies seek solutions after a challenging start to the 2025 season.
