Paul and Davis Set for Exhibition Bout on November 14

Ryan Garcia, an American professional boxer, suggested that permitting Gervonta Davis to use lighter gloves than Jake Paul would level the playing field in their upcoming fight.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul recently revealed his exhibition match against Davis, scheduled for November 14.

The announcement raised eyebrows due to the considerable weight disparity between the two fighters. Paul typically competes in the 200-pound weight category, while Davis has never exceeded 140 pounds.

Davis, the WBA world champion at 135lbs, will not be defending his title in this contest.

The fight was officially promoted at a press event in Miami the previous week. MVP Promotions’ Nakisa Bidarian clarified that the maximum weight for both boxers is capped at 195lbs, and both fighters will be required to wear 12oz gloves during the match.

Responding to a comment from Davis’ trainer, Calvin Ford, Garcia stated on social media that it would be reasonable for ‘Tank’ to have lighter gloves than Paul when they face off in the ring in November.

Garcia said, “Coach Calvin raised a valid point when he questioned why Tank couldn’t use 8 oz gloves while Jake uses 12 oz. Given the significant weight difference, it makes sense. That was my exact point. That would make it INTERESTING and I could see that being RESPECTFUL.”

Garcia had previously criticized the matchup on social media, declaring, ‘Boxing is officially the WWE.’

Concerns have been voiced regarding the size discrepancy between the two boxers, as Paul is eight inches taller than the three-weight world champion and weighed in at just under 200lb before his previous fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
