Fury Endorses Dubois for Usyk Rematch
Tyson Fury has voiced his support for Daniel Dubois in his upcoming rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, according to international media outlets. Fury’s endorsement comes despite his own two defeats against Usyk, who currently holds the title of undisputed champion.
Dubois initially faced Usyk in August 2023 in Poland, where Usyk secured a ninth-round knockout victory, having previously knocked down the British fighter twice. The match was controversial due to a disputed low blow.
Fury, potentially seeking a third bout with Usyk, has recently hinted at a return to the ring via social media, offering advice to Dubois before his significant fight against the Ukrainian.
Fury’s Perspective
“I don’t know. Dubois’ very young, ambitious, big strong man. Usyk’s very experienced but again, he’s coming off of two fights with me which is debatable whether he won or not, which he did win and that’s all that matters. He’s 38 years old,” Fury said.
“[My advice would be] knock him out … Actually, I wouldn’t say that because it’s in England and it’s his home show. Just do the best you can. He hurt him before with a body shot, put him down heavily, so maybe he can hurt him again.”
Dubois has demonstrated resilience following his loss to Usyk, achieving victories against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua. Many experts are predicting Dubois will win this upcoming fight.
Conversely, if Usyk triumphs, he will become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, having previously held all cruiserweight division titles.
