Pakistan Women’s Blind Cricket Team to Compete in Kathmandu, Nepal

The inaugural Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup is slated to commence on November 10, with all matches structured on a single-league format. Sources confirmed the details on Friday.

The tournament will adopt a hybrid model, with league matches taking place in Delhi and Bangalore, India. Pakistan’s team will contest all its matches in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The competition is anticipated to host six teams. One semi-final is scheduled in Bangalore, while the other will be held in Kathmandu. Should Pakistan advance to the final, it will be staged in Kathmandu. Otherwise, Bangalore will likely host the final, sources indicated.

The official match schedule will be announced by the Indian Blind Cricket Association soon.

Previously, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) selection committee shortlisted 20 potential women cricketers for the event during a selection and training camp in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in July.

The shortlisted players, comprising seven each from the B1 and B2 categories and six from B3, will be narrowed down to a final 16-member squad by October 15, as per the PBCC.
