Fernandes Rejects Lucrative Offer from Al-Hilal
Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, has declined a proposal to transfer to Al-Hilal, communicating his decision to the Saudi Pro League club this Tuesday.
Fernandes, who had been giving serious consideration to Al-Hilal’s offer, ultimately decided against the move following discussions with his family. He currently remains among the top-paid players at Manchester United.
The Portuguese midfielder had the potential to earn a staggering £200 million through the transfer to the Saudi Arabian champions. The proposed deal included a £100 million transfer fee for United and a weekly wage of £1 million for Fernandes.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville commented on the situation, stressing Fernandes’s vital role within the team. He also noted Fernandes’s desire to step up in the upcoming match and continue fighting for the club.
“He’s incredibly important to the team.
The fact he is willing to stay and battle through these tough times, instead of taking the easy route out, will only increase his popularity amongst Manchester United fans.
Turning down such a significant amount of money at a time when Manchester United is facing challenges demonstrates his character and commitment to the club.
The club requires individuals who are prepared to give their all.”
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim expressed his support for Fernandes’s choice to remain with the team, emphasizing his leadership qualities, enthusiasm for the sport, and responsible attitude.
“His performances, leadership, and passion for the game are evident. Bruno consistently takes responsibility in difficult circumstances, which is fitting for the captain,” Amorim stated.
