Evander’s Double Propels Cincinnati to Victory Over Inter Miami

CINCINNATI: Midfielder Evander achieved a significant milestone for FC Cincinnati by scoring in his fifth straight game, contributing to his team’s decisive 3–0 triumph against Inter Miami in a Major League Soccer (MLS) match at TQL Stadium on Wednesday.

Evander delivered two second-half goals, opening his account in the 50th minute with a powerful left-footed strike from inside the box that nestled into the bottom-right corner, extending Cincinnati’s advantage.

He completed his brace in the 70th minute, highlighting a stellar performance. Following several thwarted attempts earlier in the game, Evander successfully converted his opportunities in the second half, elevating his MLS regular-season goal count to 15.

Forward Gerardo Valenzuela initiated the scoring for Cincinnati in the 16th minute. His left-footed shot from the left side of the penalty area found the bottom-right corner, marking his fourth goal this season.

Throughout the first half, including six minutes of added time, Cincinnati maintained control, frequently advancing into Miami’s penalty area and challenging their goalkeeper.

The home side registered seven shots in the first half and concluded the game with a total of 11 shots, six of which were on target.

Defensively, FC Cincinnati successfully neutralized Lionel Messi and the rest of the Inter Miami squad, preventing them from scoring. Messi had two attempts near the end of the first half, one blocked by defender Lukas Engel and the other saved by goalkeeper Roman Celentano.

Celentano made two saves, securing his seventh clean sheet of the season. Inter Miami’s goalkeepers, Oscar Ustari and Rocco Rios Novo, collectively made four saves during the match.
