Teddy Long Endorses Alberto Del Rio’s Potential WWE Return
Teddy Long, a former WWE referee and manager, has voiced his support for the return of Alberto El Patron, also recognized as Alberto Del Rio, to WWE, according to various media outlets.
Recent reports from Hugo Savinovich, a former wrestling commentator, suggest that prominent figures within WWE are pushing for Del Rio’s comeback.
Savinovich mentioned that stars such as Roman Reigns, The Undertaker, and Rey Mysterio, who have maintained a strong rapport with Del Rio, are key advocates for his return to WWE.
In a recent discussion, Teddy Long reminisced about his time with Alberto Del Rio in WWE, describing him as a good person. He also noted that WWE’s measured approach to Del Rio’s potential return is wise.
“He performed exceptionally well. I had the pleasure of collaborating with him. A very likable individual. I believe their current strategy is appropriate, building anticipation for his return. Delaying his comeback might be beneficial, creating greater excitement among fans,” Long commented.
Del Rio’s last appearance in WWE was in August 2016 on SmackDown, where he was defeated by John Cena. Subsequently, he departed from WWE and participated in TNA Wrestling and AAA.
In May, Del Rio was involved in an altercation with El Hijo del Vikingo’s father during a Mexican talk show. The incident gained significant attention on social media, potentially jeopardizing his speculated WWE return.
