England Set to Host South Africa in White-Ball Series
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially revealed the squads for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa, scheduled from September 2 to 14.
Following their Test series against India, England will shift their attention to the limited-overs formats, concluding their home summer season with three ODIs and three T20Is against South Africa.
The ODI series will commence at Headingley in Leeds on September 2, with Lord’s and The Rose Bowl hosting the subsequent matches on September 4 and 7, respectively.
The T20Is are scheduled to be held in Cardiff, Manchester, and Nottingham on September 10, 12, and 14, respectively.
Middle-order batsman Harry Brook, appointed as England captain after their performance at the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy earlier this year, will continue to lead the team in the home white-ball series.
The England squad for the ODI series against South Africa remains largely consistent, with the inclusion of emerging pacer Sonny Baker, who received his first call-up following strong performances for England Lions.
Baker will replace Gus Atkinson in the ODI squad, as Atkinson will be rested in preparation for The Ashes.
The hosts will also see the return of fast bowler Jofra Archer in both squads, who recently played in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy after a four-year absence.
