Dubois Eyes Next Fight After Usyk Defeat

Daniel Dubois has reportedly begun planning his next bout following his defeat by Oleksandr Usyk, according to international media outlets on Friday.

Dubois’s attempt to seize the heavyweight title ended when Usyk defeated him in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium on July 19. This rematch was intended to crown the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time.

Usyk has made history by becoming the first boxer to achieve undisputed champion status for a third time, previously holding the title at cruiserweight (2018) and heavyweight (2024).

Usyk initially faced Dubois in August 2023, securing a ninth-round knockout victory in Poland after twice knocking down the British boxer.

Following his loss, Dubois opted to make changes to his team, parting ways with his trainer, Don Charles, and coach Kieran Farrell.

He brought in Sam Jones as his advisor, and the pair met with Dubois’s promoter, Frank Warren, this week to discuss future strategies.

In a social media video, Dubois, when questioned about his future plans, revealed that a major announcement is forthcoming.

“Yes, a significant announcement is coming soon. I’ll let the others share the details, but I’m eager and determined to make a comeback,” Dubois stated.

Warren, Dubois’s promoter, characterized the upcoming fight as a challenging and high-quality contest, predicting widespread enthusiasm.

“It will be a demanding fight, a good fight, a high-caliber fight. Everyone will be thrilled when they learn about it. It’s a very significant fight,” Warren added.
