Dodgers Overcome Giants with Pages’ Homer

LOS ANGELES: At Dodger Stadium on Sunday, Andy Pages propelled the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants in a Major League Baseball (MLB) game, thanks to his pivotal three-run home run.

The Dodgers were down by a single run before their three-run surge in the fifth inning. Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts initiated the inning with consecutive singles off Joey Lucchesi. Following a ground out by Freddie Freeman, they advanced to second and third.

San Francisco then substituted in Ryan Walker, a former closer, who managed to strike out Teoscar Hernandez for the second out. However, Pages then drove a slider to left-center, giving the Dodgers a 5-3 lead.

Lucchesi (0-1) was charged with the loss for the Giants.

Ohtani initiated the scoring for the Dodgers in the first inning, leading off with a single through the middle. Freeman then singled to second with one out, and Hernandez walked, loading the bases. Pages then hit a sacrifice fly, which allowed Ohtani to score from third, putting them ahead 1-0.

Tommy Edman extended the lead to 2-0 with a home run in the second inning.

The Giants countered with a two-out rally in the fourth. Mike Yastrzemski singled to right. Christian Koss followed with a single up the middle, scoring Yastrzemski and narrowing the Dodgers’ advantage to 2-1.

Jung Hoo Lee then hit a crucial triple down the right field line, bringing in both Porter and Koss, which gave the Giants a 3-2 lead.

Dustin May (4-4) pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits, walking four, and striking out three.

Tanner Scott secured his 13th save by striking out all three batters in the ninth inning.
