Kulusevski to Miss Europa League Final After Knee Surgery

Tottenham Hotspur will be without midfielder Dejan Kulusevski for the Europa League final. He recently underwent surgery on his right knee.

Kulusevski sustained the knee injury during their Premier League match against Crystal Palace the past Sunday.

With 10 goals and 11 assists, Kulusevski has been a consistent performer for Spurs, clocking a total of 3449 minutes this season.

Kulusevski joins James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall on the list of sidelined Spurs players, who are recovering from knee and ankle injuries, respectively.

Spurs are preparing to face Manchester United in the Europa League final with hopes of securing UEFA Champions League qualification. The club has confirmed Kulusevski’s surgery and stated that he will immediately begin his rehabilitation.

In an official statement, the club said, “We can confirm that Dejan Kulusevski suffered an injury to his right patella during our Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace last weekend.”

The statement continued, “Following specialist consultation, the midfielder underwent surgery and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately. We’re all with you, Deki!”

Currently, Spurs are positioned 17th in the Premier League standings, just above the relegation zone and trailing United, who are 16th.

Both teams have struggled in their league campaigns but could still qualify for the next Champions League season with a victory in the Europa League final held in Spain.

Tottenham’s last trophy was the League Cup, which they won back in 2008.
