Chisora Now Backing Whyte Against Itauma Following Physique Assessment

Derek Chisora has shifted his support to Dillian Whyte in his upcoming bout against Moses Itauma, citing Whyte’s impressive physical condition, according to reports. The match is scheduled for Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Whyte’s recent career has been marked by periods of inactivity, including a positive test for a prohibited substance, later attributed to a tainted supplement. This issue initially sidelined him but eventually allowed him to resume fighting.

Following his return, Whyte secured a win against Christian Hammer in March 2024 and triumphed over Ebenezer Tetteh in seven rounds. However, a clash with Joe Joyce was called off due to an injury in early 2025.

With a record of 31 victories in 34 professional fights, Whyte has faced formidable opponents such as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Initially, Chisora cautioned Whyte against facing the emerging talent, Itauma. However, in a recent interview, Chisora, known as ‘Del Boy,’ admitted his perspective had changed after observing Whyte’s physique in the lead-up to the fight.

“I initially believed Moses would secure a knockout, a view he didn’t appreciate. My assessment was primarily based on Whyte’s previous performance, which was underwhelming. Comparing that to Moses Itauma’s recent showing, the differences were stark,” Chisora stated.

“However, Dillian’s current form is remarkable. Seeing him in such excellent condition has made me reconsider my prediction. He appears revitalized, and I believe the ‘big bad wolf’ is back.”

Moses Itauma has rapidly gained recognition as a formidable force, boasting an unblemished record of 12 wins, with 10 knockouts. At just 20 years old, Itauma’s exceptional skillset has drawn comparisons to legends like Mike Tyson since his early career.
