Lee Selects All-Time Asian T20I Squad

Former Australian batting star Brett Lee unveiled his all-time Asian T20I team on Tuesday, notable for including five Indian players and only a pair from Pakistan.

The ACC Men’s Asia Cup’s 17th iteration commenced at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Stadium, featuring a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

Lee, who played in 76 Tests, 221 ODIs, and 25 T20Is for Australia from 1999 to 2012, revealed his selections during a Fox Sports interview.

His choices for the opening batsmen were India’s Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He also included Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, currently seventh in all-time T20I run scoring, and fast bowler Haris Rauf.

“Given his accomplishments, I believe Rizwan deserves a spot in the all-time T20I team. I am surprised by the speculation that he might not participate in the current series,” Lee commented on Rizwan.

He added, “Haris Rauf offers pace and excels with his deliveries at the end of the innings.”

Lee’s squad also features India’s MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, along with Rashid Khan from Afghanistan and Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka.

In addition to players from established Asian cricket nations, he chose three players from associate nations: Babar Hayat from Hong Kong, and Amjad Javed and Mohammad Naveed from the UAE.
