Itauma Gears Up for Whyte Clash, Dubois Set for Usyk Rematch

Tony Bellew, the former English professional boxer, anticipates that with additional seasoning, Moses Itauma possesses the potential to defeat IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois.

Dubois, who is 27 years old and in the midst of his career, has previously achieved victories against formidable opponents such as Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua.

Dubois’s triumph over Joshua was a significant milestone, earning him the coveted International Boxing Federation (IBF) title.

Itauma, on the other hand, has garnered recognition in recent years, boasting an unblemished record of 12 wins and no losses, with 10 of those victories secured by knockout.

At just 20 years old, Itauma showcases an impressive range of skills, drawing comparisons to legendary figures like Mike Tyson from an early stage.

Bellew was questioned during an interview about a hypothetical match between Itauma and Dubois, to which he responded:

“I genuinely believe [Itauma] is an exceptional fighter. His whole persona, his attitude, everything about him screams quality. He dictates the pace on his terms. He’s truly special. And to top it off, he’s a southpaw,” Bellew commented.

“I foresee him contending for a world heavyweight title within the next year and a half. He exhibits no fear. With a bit more experience under his belt, I’d back him to overcome the upcoming generation of heavyweights, including Daniel Dubois,” he further stated.

Currently, Itauma is scheduled to face fellow British boxer Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia, with reports indicating the bout will take place on August 16. Meanwhile, Dubois is preparing for a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, slated for July 19.
