Bangladesh Cricket Team Arrives in Lahore for T20I Series

LAHORE: The final contingent of the Bangladesh cricket team, including four players and essential support personnel, touched down in Lahore on Monday, marking the completion of the team’s arrival for the anticipated three-match T20I series against Pakistan.

This last group comprised players Litton Das, Shoriful Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy, in addition to members of the team’s support staff.

The Bangladesh squad made their way to Pakistan in three distinct phases in preparation for the series.

Previously, on Sunday, an initial group of 10 individuals arrived in Lahore as part of the first phase. This prior group included players such as Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Originally, the Bangladesh team was scheduled to arrive on May 21 in two groups for what was planned as a five-match T20I series, with the first match set for May 25 in Faisalabad.

However, due to logistical complexities and shifting security assessments, the tour was modified to a shorter, three-match series.

The alteration of the schedule was determined following a successful discussion between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) representatives, namely chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.

Both cricket boards came to a consensus to proceed with the series based on the revised plan.

According to the new schedule, all three T20 International matches will be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on May 28, May 30, and June 1.
