Bangladesh Cricket Team Arrives in Lahore for T20I Series
LAHORE: The final contingent of the Bangladesh cricket team, comprising four players and support personnel, has reached Lahore on Monday, in preparation for the forthcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan.
This group consists of Litton Das, Shoriful Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy, along with additional support staff members.
The Bangladesh cricket team’s arrival in Pakistan was segmented into three phases for this series.
Previously, on Sunday, the initial group of ten members landed in Lahore. This group included players like Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
Originally, the Bangladesh team was scheduled to arrive on May 21 in two groups for a five-match T20I series, with the first match set for May 25 in Faisalabad.
However, the tour was adjusted to a three-match series because of logistical problems and updated security assessments.
The modification to the schedule was agreed upon following a constructive discussion between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials, notably chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.
Both boards came to a consensus to proceed with the series according to the revised plan.
As per the updated schedule, all three T20 Internationals will be hosted at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, scheduled for May 28, May 30, and June 1.
