Bangladesh Sets 196-6 Against Pakistan in Final T20I

Bangladesh concluded their innings with a total of 196-6 in the third and final T20I against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. An impressive opening partnership laid the foundation for their score.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Bangladesh’s opening batsmen initiated aggressively, taking charge against Pakistan’s bowling unit. Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon combined effectively, amassing 53 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket.

Emon showcased aggressive form, hitting multiple boundaries, while Tanzid supported him by ensuring smooth strike rotation. Parvez Hossain Emon achieved a half-century in just 27 balls, boosting Bangladesh to 80-0 in eight overs.

The pair continued their momentum, reaching a 100-run opening partnership by the 11th over, particularly targeting Faheem Ashraf’s bowling with frequent boundaries.

However, Faheem Ashraf eventually broke the partnership by dismissing Tanzid Hasan, who scored 42 from 32 deliveries, including three fours and three sixes. The score was 110 for 1 at 10.4 overs.

Shortly after, Shadab Khan claimed Parvez’s wicket, with the score at 113 for 2 in 11.1 overs. Parvez made a significant contribution of 66 runs from 34 balls.

Bangladesh’s captain, Litton Das, then partnered with Towhid Hridoy, adding valuable runs to the total. Hridoy adopted an aggressive approach to maintain scoring speed, while Das played a supporting role.

Together, they advanced Bangladesh past the 150-run mark in the 15th over, combining boundaries with strategic strike rotation. Hasan Ali disrupted their partnership by dismissing Das, who scored 22 off 18 balls, bringing the score to 162 for 3 in 16.3 overs.

Shamim Hossain entered and quickly made an impact with consecutive boundaries off Hasan Ali’s bowling. Nevertheless, Abbas Afridi dismissed him for 8 runs off 4 balls, securing Abbas’s first wicket in the match. The score became 171 for 4 in 17.3 overs.

Abbas Afridi struck again in the same over, dismissing Towhid Hridoy for 25 runs off 18 balls, impacting Bangladesh’s chances of exceeding 200 runs.

During the final overs, Jakeer Ali added critical late runs, including consecutive boundaries off Faheem Ashraf, which helped Bangladesh achieve their highest T20I total against Pakistan.

Hasan Ali returned for the final over, securing his second wicket by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz for one, leaving Bangladesh at 184-6.

Bangladesh concluded their innings with Jakeer Ali remaining unbeaten on 15 from 9 balls, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib contributing 8 from 3 deliveries.

From Pakistan’s perspective, Hasan Ali and Abbas Afridi were the leading bowlers, each taking two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan each claimed one wicket.
