Bangladesh Records Highest T20I Score Against Pakistan

During the third and final T20I match against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, the Bangladesh cricket team accomplished a remarkable feat.

The Litton Das-led Bengal Tigers achieved their highest-ever T20I score against Pakistan, surpassing a record that had stood for 13 years.

Their previous best total against the Men in Green was 175-6, recorded in Pallekele, which resulted in a loss.

In the series’ concluding match, Bangladesh posted an impressive 196-6, propelled by an exceptional batting display from Parvez Hossain Emon, who amassed 66 runs from 34 balls.

Tanzid Hasan also played a crucial role, contributing 42 runs off 32 deliveries.

Highest Total for Bangladesh Against Pakistan in T20Is

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Bangladesh’s opening batsmen launched an aggressive assault, dominating Pakistan’s bowling attack.

Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon forged a formidable 53-run partnership without losing any wickets during the powerplay overs.

Emon displayed excellent form, hitting multiple boundaries, while Tanzid effectively rotated the strike. Parvez achieved a splendid T20I half-century in just 27 deliveries, helping Bangladesh reach 80-0 by the eighth over.

The pair sustained their momentum, extending their partnership to 100 runs by the 11th over and targeting Faheem Ashraf’s bowling with frequent boundaries.

However, Faheem ended the partnership by dismissing Tanzid Hasan, who scored 42 runs, including three boundaries and three sixes. At this point, the score was 110 for 1 in 10.4 overs.

Shadab Khan soon followed up, claiming Parvez’s wicket with the score at 113 for 2 in the 11.1th over. Parvez played a superb innings, scoring 66 off 34 balls.

Bangladesh captain Litton Das then joined Towhid Hridoy at the crease, with both adding valuable runs. Hridoy began aggressively to maintain the scoring rate, while Das offered solid support.

In the final phase of the innings, Jakeer Ali contributed crucial late runs, including consecutive boundaries off Faheem Ashraf, assisting Bangladesh in setting their highest T20I total against Pakistan.

Hasan Ali returned for the last over and secured his second wicket by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz for just one run, leaving Bangladesh at 184-6.

Bangladesh concluded their innings with Jakeer Ali remaining unbeaten on 15 off 9 balls and Tanzim Hasan Sakib adding eight runs off three deliveries.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Abbas Afridi were the leading bowlers, each taking two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan each claimed one wicket.
