Cricket Australia Plans White-Ball Series Tour to Pakistan
Cricket Australia (CA) is making preparations for a white-ball series tour to Pakistan, planned for the beginning of next year. This move indicates a stride in reinforcing cricket connections between the two countries.
CA CEO Todd Greenberg shared his optimistic views regarding the tour during an online press conference. He highlighted the value of the series against Pakistan and the continued cooperation between the two cricket administrations.
Greenberg stated, “I anticipate another successful tour of Pakistan. The series is a vital component of our schedule. Communication between Pakistan and Australia has been effective concerning both red-ball and white-ball series. We will definitely explore more opportunities for such series.”
Greenberg reflected on the 2022 tour, conveying his excitement for future matches held in Pakistan. “We are keen to play a series in Pakistan. Our 2022 tour marked a return after a considerable period, and it proved to be very successful. The Australian team was warmly received. Sustaining such series would be excellent.”
Greenberg also highlighted the league’s dedication to attracting talent from Pakistan, acknowledging the popularity of Pakistani players and the reciprocal advantages of their involvement.
He mentioned, “Pakistani players undoubtedly hold significant popularity. We aim to draw players from across the globe for the BBL. Top Pakistani players will certainly find it enjoyable here. The league will greatly benefit from their presence for the teams and franchises.”
Greenberg confirmed regarding player participation, “I am hopeful that we will successfully attract players for the upcoming BBL edition.”
It’s worth noting that Pakistan’s last tour to Australia occurred in November 2024 for a white-ball series.
Under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, the Men in Green achieved a historic 2-1 victory in the ODI series, marking their first series win in Australia since 2002.
However, Australia responded strongly by winning the subsequent T20I series 3-0.
According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–27, Australia is scheduled to tour Pakistan for a white-ball series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is in February–March.
