Teddy Atlas Suggests Hrgovic as Next Opponent for Itauma

According to international media sources on Tuesday, Teddy Atlas has recommended that Moses Itauma target Filip Hrgovic as his next adversary.

Itauma, considered a promising prospect in the heavyweight division, achieved a victory over Dillian Whyte in a non-title match held on August 16 in Saudi Arabia.

The British boxer demonstrated his skill, securing a first-round triumph and adding a significant name to his list of knockout wins.

The 20-year-old recently expressed his eagerness for a new challenge, regardless of the opponent. Now, Atlas, a well-known American boxing coach, commentator, and analyst, has advised him to pursue a fight with Hrgovic.

Atlas stated that Itauma requires an opponent who can extend the fight and provide a genuine test.

“Itauma needs someone who can go several rounds with him and pose questions that need answering, not for us, but for himself. He needs someone like Hrgovic because of his strong resilience; while he may be somewhat easy to hit at times, he is a substantial fighter,” Atlas commented.

“He might not possess the same punching power as Joshua. He’s a sizable man, capable of inflicting damage, but I don’t believe his punching is at that elite level.

“I’m not suggesting he lacks punching ability, as someone of his size can certainly deliver forceful blows. However, I don’t see him as one of those exceptional punchers who can cause a head injury or ankle fracture with a single hit.”

Hrgovic previously defeated David Adeleye on the undercard of the Itauma versus Whyte event, with reports indicating that he was considered for the fight as early as December.
