Asif Advances to Quarterfinals at Asian 6-Red Ball Championship

Pakistan’s experienced cueist, Muhammad Asif, is demonstrating strong performance at the Asian 6-Red Ball Championship in Sri Lanka.

He secured a spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Neang Tola of Cambodia with a decisive 5-1 victory in the pre-quarterfinals.

After a slightly hesitant commencement, the two-time IBSF World Champion regained his composure after conceding the initial frame 27-16.

Asif then showcased his skill, clinching five successive frames to win the match convincingly.

The scores for each frame of Asif’s triumph were: 48-25, 35-32, 52-9, 43-35, and 40-10.

However, Pakistan’s other participants, Mohammad Sajjad and Awais Munir, were unable to progress past the pre-quarterfinal stage.

Awais Munir was overcome by Hong Kong’s Ming Wa Man 5-3, while Mohammad Sajjad faced a 5-0 defeat against Singapore’s Sunny Wang.

Asif is scheduled to compete against Malaysia’s Lim Kok Leong in the quarterfinals later today.

Earlier in the competition, Asif began his journey with a 4-1 triumph over Neang Tola of Cambodia in the group phase, achieving frame scores of 37-17, 47-0, 9-59, 44-0, and 39-9.

He then proceeded to the knockout stages following an overwhelming 4-0 victory over Oman’s Abdullah Al Raisi.

Notably, Asif also secured the 3rd SAARC Snooker Championship title earlier in the year, defeating Sri Lanka’s Thaha Irshath without losing any frames in the final held at Moors Sports Club, Colombo.
