Arshad Nadeem Continues Training at Punjab Stadium Before Swiss Departure

Pakistan’s prominent javelin athlete, Arshad Nadeem, persisted with his preparations at the Punjab Athletics Stadium on Tuesday for forthcoming competitions, notably the Diamond League and the World Athletics Championships.

Reportedly, the Olympic gold winner will keep up his training at the stadium until July 12, when he is scheduled to depart for Switzerland. There, he is set to participate in the European Athletics Silver qualification event on July 15.

Following this, Nadeem will head to England on July 16 to gear up for both the World Athletics Championships and the Diamond League, which are slated to take place on August 16 in Poland.

After competing in the Diamond League, Nadeem is expected to return to Pakistan ahead of the World Athletics Championships, which are scheduled for September this year.

While speaking to the media during the World Olympic Day ceremony last month, Nadeem emphasized that the approaching global event remains his chief concern, and he is dedicated to delivering an exceptional performance.

He also mentioned his imminent departure for England, where he intends to continue training for a month.

Nadeem stated, “My attention is directed towards the World Athletics Championships, and I am fully committed to it.”

He also added, “The weather is quite hot in Lahore. I will be going to England shortly to train there for a month.”

Notably, Nadeem gained worldwide recognition the previous year after achieving a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters at the Paris Olympics, thereby breaking the Olympic javelin record and earning the gold medal.

Maintaining his form, Arshad Nadeem replicated his success at the Asian Athletics Championship in May, where he secured another gold medal with an 86.40-meter throw.
