Arsenal Confirms Talks with Thomas Partey Amid Contract Expiry

Arsenal Football Club has acknowledged ongoing discussions with Thomas Partey regarding his future with the team, as his current contract is set to conclude on June 30. The announcement came on Wednesday, addressing speculations surrounding the player’s potential departure.

Partey, who has been linked with a possible free transfer to Barcelona in La Liga, previously showcased his skills in Spain before joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for a reported £45 million.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been a key component of Arsenal’s squad, having participated in 52 matches this year, surpassing his previous record by 10 games.

The club addressed Partey’s contract situation, stating, “The contracts of Chloe Kelly, Thomas Partey, and Michal Rosiak are expiring on June 30, 2025. Discussions are in progress, and we will provide updates once decisions are finalized among all involved parties.”

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, voiced his desire for Partey to remain with the club, emphasizing his importance to the team. Arteta noted Partey’s consistent performance and availability, deeming him a crucial asset.

Earlier in April, Arteta addressed inquiries about contract negotiations, stating that progress was being made with all players and that the club’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, would handle further decisions and discussions.
