Antonelli Lauds Verstappen as World-Class Talent

Mercedes protégé Kimi Antonelli has expressed his admiration for Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, acknowledging him as “astonishing” following their on-track duel at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Antonelli achieved a commendable third-place finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, thereby becoming the third-youngest racer to secure a podium position.

After qualifying fourth and finishing third, Antonelli relentlessly pursued Verstappen for second place but ultimately came up short, concluding the race behind the reigning four-time world champion.

Antonelli regards Verstappen as one of the foremost talents globally and considers him a source of personal inspiration.

Antonelli’s Perspective

“Competing in F1 alongside the nineteen other elite drivers on the grid provides immense motivation. The opportunity to perform at your peak and demonstrate your abilities is a significant catalyst. Observing Max’s accomplishments over the years, especially during his initial seasons, has been truly remarkable,” Antonelli commented.

“Without a doubt, he serves as a role model for me. Racing against the best offers an invaluable learning experience. Furthermore, having someone like George as a teammate greatly aids in personal development.

“George’s contribution to this result is also noteworthy, as he has supported my growth and pushed me to excel throughout this initial phase of the season.”
