Manchester United Overpowers Bournemouth in Preseason Friendly
CHICAGO: According to international media reports on Thursday, Manchester United’s coach, Ruben Amorim, stated that his players have demonstrated notable progress in the preseason friendly against Bournemouth. He noted they are already exhibiting increased strength and speed compared to the previous season.
Manchester United secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Bournemouth at Soldier Field on Wednesday. While Amorim’s squad delivered a strong showing, the Portuguese coach cautioned his players that the preseason environment differs significantly from the pressures of the Premier League.
“We are progressing. However, it’s important to remember that this is a preseason match. The intensity and demands will be considerably different during the regular season,” Amorim commented.
“I believe their improved performance is also attributed to better connectivity among the players, both on and off the field. They appear stronger and faster, and the intensity is noticeably different compared to last season.
“The data from playing time also reflects significant changes. It’s crucial for them to recognize that they are capable of playing at a different level.”
Despite challenging conditions with heavy rain, Manchester United showcased dominant gameplay against Bournemouth. Rasmus Højlund, Patrick Dorgu, Amad Diallo, and rising star Ethan Williams each contributed goals to secure the comfortable win.
Manchester United is scheduled to compete against West Ham in New Jersey on Saturday.
Amorim further commented on the win, stating it was a solid match with good intensity, underscoring the areas requiring improvement.
“I felt it was a positive game,” Amorim remarked.
“We exhibited intensity and aggression, aspects we need to further refine from last season.”
“Our ball control was better compared to the previous game, indicating that they are responsive. It was a valuable test.”
Ruben Amorim’s team will remain in Chicago until the weekend before wrapping up the Premier League Summer Series against Everton in Atlanta on Sunday.
