Allen Compares Chisora’s Punching Power to Joshua’s
Dave Allen, a British heavyweight boxer, has declared Derek Chisora as the most formidable puncher he has faced in his career. This is noteworthy considering Allen’s experience against some of boxing’s prominent figures.
Allen has sparred with notable names like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Daniel Dubois. However, he maintains that Chisora’s raw power surpasses them all.
Despite suffering defeats against top contenders like David Price, Dillian Whyte, and Luis Ortiz, Allen recently achieved a significant victory by knocking out Johnny Fisher in the fifth round. Fisher himself is known for his considerable punching ability.
Allen emphasized that Chisora stands out for his sheer power and force.
Allen’s Quote
“In terms of one-punch power, it’s Derek Chisora. While he might not be the best overall, his brute force is unmatched. His right hand packed a serious punch. It wasn’t the fastest, and there wasn’t much deception, but I could feel it even when I braced for it,” Allen stated.
Allen drew a comparison between Chisora’s punching style and that of Anthony Joshua, highlighting the differences in their techniques.
“He’s a different kind of puncher compared to someone like Anthony Joshua,” Allen elaborated.
“Joshua is quicker and sharper, whereas Chisora’s punches are more about delivering concussive impact. Joshua gave me more problems in sparring, but in terms of pure, unadulterated power, Chisora takes the crown,” he added.
Chisora, aged 41, has secured 23 knockouts in his 36 victories, solidifying his reputation as a devastating puncher.
Following his victory against Otto Wallin in his 49th professional fight, the British veteran is now looking toward his 50th, which he hopes will be a chance to compete for a world title.
