Kaleem Achieves Fastest TKO at Championship
In Baku, Pakistani kickboxer Agha Kaleem secured a major victory at the World Professional Kickboxing Championship, defeating Azerbaijan’s Revan Musayev.
Kaleem demonstrated exceptional skill, overwhelming Musayev with a knockout in just 15 seconds. This was recorded as the quickest Technical Knockout (TKO) throughout the entire two-day competition.
This triumph is particularly meaningful for Kaleem, who previously earned a silver medal in the 51-kilogram division at the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) World Muaythai Championships in March.
Agha Kaleem advanced to the final of the 51-kilogram category with a series of dominant displays, where he faced a competitor from Croatia. Ultimately, Kaleem was defeated in the final match.
The 24-year-old suggested that the referee showed bias toward his adversary in the final but conveyed his appreciation for having earned the honor for his nation.
Remarks from Kaleem:
“I believe I was unfairly judged, with the referee displaying partiality,” Kaleem stated.
“I thank Almighty Allah for the silver medal I secured for my country,” he added.
Kaleem, who is originally from Quetta and presently resides in Baldia Town, Karachi, earns his livelihood as a tea vendor.
Despite notable accomplishments and several accolades at both national and international levels, Kaleem initially faced financial difficulties, selling parathas at a local food stall in Karachi.
Support from singer Ali Zafar and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi eventually helped Agha Kaleem compete in and win the International MMA Championship in 2023.
“I am grateful to Allah for winning the international MMA championship,” Kaleem posted on X, tagging Zafar.
Zafar responded with a congratulatory message, saying, “Amazing! I always believed in you. I’m very proud.”
