YouTuber Ducky Bhai Sent to Jail on Judicial Remand

A local court in Lahore has ordered that YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely recognized as Ducky Bhai, be held in judicial custody for 14 days. This decision is connected to a case concerning the alleged endorsement of online gambling and betting applications.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) apprehended Ducky Bhai last month at the Lahore airport.

During the hearing, the NCCIA presented Ducky Bhai before the court and requested an extension of his physical remand to allow for further inquiries. However, the court denied the request and mandated that the YouTuber be sent to jail for a two-week judicial remand.

Previously, the court had extended Ducky Bhai’s physical remand for three days on Friday, following a two-day extension approved by a Lahore judicial magistrate on September 3. His initial remand spanned from August 28 to September 1.

The NCCIA registered the case against the YouTuber on behalf of the state at midnight on August 17.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the charges include violations of sections 13, 14, 25, and 26 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as well as sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIR alleges that the YouTuber promoted various online gambling and betting platforms, such as Binomo and 1xBet, through his YouTube channel.

This legal action follows an incident a few months ago when motorway police cited the YouTuber for performing perilous driving stunts.

Ducky Bhai is a well-known digital content creator in Pakistan, boasting over 8 million YouTube subscribers and more than 700 uploaded videos.
