Abdullah Nawaz Advances in World Junior Squash Championship
Pakistan’s Abdullah Nawaz delivered a remarkable display at the World Junior Squash Championship in Houston, USA, securing his place in the third round on Tuesday. The competition features 243 players representing 39 nations.
Straight-Set Victory
During the second round, Abdullah triumphed over Canada’s Riyan Paliwal in three straight sets, with scores of 11–6, 11–6, and 11–3.

Pakistani athletes have showcased excellent form, extending their victorious streak at the World Junior Squash Championships.
Previous Round Successes
Earlier in the tournament, Hamza Khan, Huzaifa Ibrahim, and Abdullah secured wins in their initial matches and continued their success in the Round of 64.
- Hamza Khan defeated Spain’s Oriol Salvia Rebull with scores of 11-8, 11-6, and 11-3.
- Huzaifa Ibrahim overcame South Africa’s Connor Arendse with scores of 11-5, 11-6, and 11-8.
- Abdullah also secured a victory against Brazil’s Lucas Yencharleson, with scores of 11-0, 11-7, and 11-4.
All three Pakistani players are now set to compete in the round of 32.
Championship Details
The individual events commenced on July 12th and will continue until July 17th, while the team events are scheduled from July 18th to 23rd.
This year’s Junior Squash Championships include 243 competitors from 39 different countries. Among the participants are defending women’s champion Amina Orfi from Egypt and defending men’s champion Hamza.
This year marks the first time in World Squash history that the men’s and women’s team events are being held simultaneously, a departure from the previous annual alternation.
