Kane Williamson Praises PSL Experience

Kane Williamson, the distinguished batter for Karachi Kings and former captain of New Zealand, has lauded the Pakistan Super League (PSL), portraying his time in Pakistan as exceptionally enjoyable.

Williamson mentioned that his choice to participate in the PSL was driven by favorable opinions from acquaintances, notably Luke Ronchi, the former New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman.

“I had received numerous positive comments about the PSL from various friends, including Ronchi. It was a pleasure to come to Pakistan, and being a part of this league has been a truly wonderful experience,” Williamson commented.

Although the accomplished right-handed batsman was absent for the initial six games of the ongoing competition, his inclusion is anticipated to reinforce Karachi Kings as they head into the critical stages of the tournament.

During the PSL 2025 draft, he was picked by the Kings in the supplementary category.

Williamson, aged 34, contributes considerable T20 expertise to the squad. He has participated in 93 T20 games for New Zealand, accumulating 2,575 runs with an average of 33.44 and a strike rate of 123.08.

The 34-year-old has also been a part of several prominent T20 leagues globally, such as SA20, IPL, Vitality Blast CPL, and the now-defunct Champions League T20.

The Karachi Kings, currently holding the third position in the PSL 10 standings with three victories in six games, are scheduled to play Multan Sultans in a double-header match on May 1st in Multan.

Williamson is projected to debut in the forthcoming match, further enhancing the Kings’ team strength.
