Jacks’ All-Round Performance Propels Mumbai Indians to Victory
MUMBAI: Will Jacks complemented his effective bowling performance of 2/14 with a vital 36-run innings, guiding Mumbai Indians to a comfortable four-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
After being asked to bat, the visiting team managed a total of 162/5, as their strong batting lineup encountered difficulties against a controlled bowling attack on a tricky pitch.
Abhishek Sharma, who had scored a century in SRH’s eight-wicket victory against Punjab Kings the previous week, was the top performer for SRH.
Sharma once again spearheaded the SRH batting, scoring a quick 40 off 28 balls, including seven boundaries.

For the home team, Jacks spearheaded the bowling attack with two wickets, while Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, and captain Hardik Pandya each took one wicket.
In response, the five-time champions successfully chased down the required runs, losing six wickets with 13 balls remaining, thanks to a combined batting performance.
Jacks was also their highest scorer with 36 off 26 balls, including three fours and two sixes.
Additionally, opener Ryan Rickelton (31), Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav (26 each) made valuable contributions during the chase.
Captain Pat Cummins stood out for SRH with the ball, claiming three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs, followed by Eshan Malinga with two, and Harshal Patel with one.
