Val Chmerkovskiy Opens Up About Marriage

Val Chmerkovskiy, a well-known television figure, recently shared insights into his relationship with his spouse, Jenna Johnson.

In a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the 39-year-old dancer from America, who became a father to his firstborn, a son named Rome, in 2023 following five years of marriage, expressed, “Regarding intimacy with Jen and dedicating time for ourselves, it presents challenges.”

Chmerkovskiy further explained, “It involves consistent communication and reassurance, ensuring I convey my feelings of missing her and needing her attention, and she does the same,” highlighting this as crucial for their successful bond.

The ‘Dancing with the Stars’ personality humorously mentioned that he and Johnson, like many others, turn to “relationship guidance videos,” adding that carving out personal time post-parenthood isn’t always straightforward.

He remarked, “It’s not always consistent. It’s not a rigid discipline, at least not yet, but we aspire to establish a routine like ‘Tuesdays are for dates’ or ‘Fridays are for…’ We seize any available moment to be together.”

The ‘Got to Get Out’ star continued, “We regularly connect and consciously dedicate time to nurture our love and togetherness, striving to preserve the spontaneity and joy in our relationship.”

While navigating the uncharted waters of parenthood, Chmerkovskiy acknowledged that he and Johnson are “understanding and supportive of one another.”
