ISLAMABAD: The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), which facilitates opportunities for Pakistanis to pursue education abroad, has refuted claims circulating about the discontinuation of the Fulbright Programme.
In a recent statement, USEFP clarified that various exchange initiatives funded by the U.S. government, including the Fulbright Programme, are still active and accessible to Pakistani citizens.
The foundation emphasized that Fulbright participants currently in the United States are consistently receiving their stipends. The statement firmly denies any assertions suggesting the Fulbright Programme’s termination or the abandonment of students in the United States.
This announcement follows the recent conclusion of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Programme in Pakistan, which had been operational for 15 years.
The Fulbright Programme maintains a strong presence in Pakistan, providing substantial financial support for Master’s and PhD programs, as well as fellowships for Foreign Language Teaching Assistants.
USEFP has also dismissed reports indicating any alterations to the status of Pakistani students presently involved in the Global UGRAD program.
