COAS Asim Munir’s US Visit: Engagements with Political and Military Leaders
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held significant discussions with prominent political figures and top military brass during his official trip to the United States, according to a statement released on Sunday by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media division stated that COAS Munir’s official visit to the US included meetings with members of the Pakistani community.
In Tampa, the COAS was present at the retirement ceremony for General Michael E. Kurilla, the outgoing Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), as well as the Change of Command Ceremony that officially appointed Admiral Brad Cooper as the new commander, the statement indicated.
“COAS commended General Kurilla for his outstanding leadership and valuable efforts in enhancing bilateral military cooperation. He also conveyed his best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence in the continuation of collaborative efforts to tackle shared security concerns,” the statement elaborated.
The army chief also conferred with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, where they deliberated on areas of common professional interest.
The military’s media wing mentioned that Field Marshal Munir extended an invitation to General Caine to visit Pakistan.
Additionally, COAS Asim Munir engaged with Chiefs of Defence from various allied nations.
During an interactive session with the Pakistani diaspora, the COAS encouraged them to maintain their faith in Pakistan’s promising future and to play an active role in attracting investments.
The diaspora members reiterated their dedication to supporting Pakistan’s advancement and growth, the press release concluded.
