Ticket Sales Plagued by Technical Issues

The launch of ticket sales for the upcoming three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan faced hurdles on Monday, as the official eTicket platform experienced widespread glitches and confusion.

Fans aiming to secure their seats early encountered frustration when the designated ticketing website struggled to load throughout the day.

Without formal communication from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) specifying the exact launch time, numerous users attempted to access the site starting in the morning, only to be met with unresponsive pages.

One fan, Siam, expressed his disappointment: “I started trying to purchase tickets around 10:00 am after hearing they’d be available online from July 15. I tried several times using both my phone and laptop, but the website simply didn’t function. Even if tickets aren’t available, the site should at least provide a status update.”

After mounting speculation and increasing backlash on social media, BCB Director Mahbub Anam verified that online ticket sales would officially commence at 10:00 pm — a detail that was not initially communicated clearly.

According to Mahbub, 70 percent of the tickets will be sold online via the eTicket website and mobile app, while the remaining 30 percent will be available for purchase physically on match days at booths located near the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The BCB recently unveiled the ticket pricing structure for the highly anticipated series, scheduled to commence on July 20. Prices vary from Tk 300 to Tk 3,500, offering choices for fans across different categories.

Tickets can be bought using credit cards or digital wallets, with each account limited to four tickets per match.

Ticket Categories and Prices:
  • Eastern and Northern Galleries: Tk 300 and Tk 400 respectively
  • Shaheed Abu Sayed Stand and Club House: Tk 800
  • International Gallery and Lounge: Tk 1,500 to Tk 3,500
  • Grand Stand: Tk 2,500

Both printed and digital tickets will be accepted at the stadium entrances.

All three T20Is will be held in Mirpur, with matches scheduled for July 20, 22, and 24. The Pakistan team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh today for the series, following their 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in May.

Meanwhile, the host team has yet to announce their squad, as they are currently participating in a T20I series against Sri Lanka. The series is currently tied 1-1, with the deciding match set for July 16 in Colombo.

Pakistan squad for Bangladesh T20I series: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Haris (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Saim Ayub, Salman Mirza and Sufyan Moqim.
