Kot Addu Power Company Inks Tri-Party Agreement
The Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) has formalized a Tri-Partite Power Purchase Agreement (TPPA), complete with schedules, alongside the Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G) and the National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited.
KAPCO communicated this update in a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) sanctioned a three-party agreement involving CPPA-G, KAPCO, and the National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited last month. This agreement governs the sale of electricity generated by KAPCO’s power facility.
KAPCO, a public limited company, was established in Pakistan on April 25, 1996. Its primary operations encompass the ownership, operation, and maintenance of a multi-fuel power station. This station consists of fifteen generating units, boasting a total nameplate capacity of 1,600 MW, situated in Kot Addu, Punjab.
The power generated by the company is exclusively sold to the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) under the terms of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
