Punjab Food Controllers Review Warehouse Conditions

District food regulators from all over Punjab convened on Thursday to assess the status of storage facilities in light of recent flooding. They resolved to promptly move wheat supplies from Jhang to Toba Tek Singh in order to avert potential damage.

The meeting was led by Secretary of Price Control Dr. Ehsan Bhutta. DG Food Naveed Shahzad Mirza updated attendees on the general state of storage facilities given the flood circumstances.

Protection Measures Emphasized

The price control secretary underscored the necessity of taking every precaution to safeguard the large quantities of wheat kept in regions impacted by flooding.

Guidance must be taken from the guidelines provided by PDMA and the district administration. Dr. Ehsan Bhutta further stated that wheat and flour market prices were examined, and instructions were given for the rigorous enforcement of bread costs.

He further mandated that the sugar and flour supply chain be continuously monitored and that a sufficient stock level be maintained.
