Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Leads Delegation to New York

Former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has arrived in New York, heading a prominent parliamentary delegation.

This trip signifies the start of Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives in response to recent tensions with India.

The delegation includes key political figures such as Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr. Musadik Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Bushra Anjum Butt, Tehmina Janjua, and Jalil Abbas Jilani. Their mission is to present Pakistan’s view on the recent military situation involving India and to challenge New Delhi’s version of events.

During their stay in New York, which lasts until June 2, the delegation is scheduled to meet with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the UN General Assembly, Philemon Yang.

They are also expected to brief members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and interact with the UN Correspondents Association.

Following their time in New York, the delegation will travel to Washington, DC, on June 3. There, they intend to engage with US officials, including members of Congress and representatives from various think tanks, to deliberate on bilateral relations and regional security matters.

This diplomatic endeavor follows a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan on May 10, facilitated by the United States, after a period of increased military unease.

The visit by the Pakistani delegation highlights Islamabad’s dedication to finding peaceful solutions and proactively engaging with international participants.

The delegation’s schedule also involves visits to European capitals to further explain Pakistan’s stance on the regional situation and reinforce diplomatic connections.

This unified diplomatic push demonstrates Pakistan’s approach to handling regional issues through discussion and international partnership.
