Frank Inks 3-Year Deal with Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur formally introduced Thomas Frank as their new head coach on Thursday, subsequent to the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, despite the team’s Europa League victory.
After a seven-year tenure with Brentford, Frank has joined Tottenham Hotspur, committing to a three-year agreement with the Europa League champions.
Reports indicate that Spurs also evaluated Fulham’s Marco Silva and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola before selecting Frank, 51, to take over from Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou led Spurs to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final, securing their first trophy in 17 years.
Tottenham verified the new appointment via an official announcement.
“In Thomas, we are engaging one of the most forward-thinking and inventive head coaches in football,” Tottenham stated.
“He brings a solid history of advancing player and team performance, and we anticipate his leadership as we gear up for the upcoming season,” the club added.
Postecoglou’s Europa League triumph was contrasted by a poor Premier League showing, where the team suffered 22 league losses and barely avoided relegation, finishing 17th.
Frank is known for his meticulous approach, highlighted by Brentford scoring within the first 40 seconds in three consecutive league matches last season.
“We have a kickoff strategy, and we adjust it for each game. Our mindset is to start aggressively and positively,” Frank commented previously.
Frank led Brentford to promotion from the Championship in 2021, defeating Swansea City in the Championship playoff final that year.
Under Frank’s leadership, Brentford’s Premier League finishes in their last four seasons were 13th, 9th, 16th, and 10th.
