Tragic Accident on Indus Highway Claims Lives in Karak
A devastating traffic collision on the Indus Highway near Lakki Ghundaki in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the deaths of at least twelve individuals. Several others sustained injuries when a trailer truck collided directly with a passenger van on Tuesday.
Initial reports indicated 10 fatalities and eight injuries. Sadly, two of the critically injured individuals died while receiving medical care.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene following the report of the incident. The impact of the crash left numerous passengers trapped within the severely damaged van.
Local residents assisted the rescue personnel in their efforts to extricate the injured and recover the deceased from the wreckage.
Rescue authorities confirmed that the bodies of the initial 10 victims were transported to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Karak. Medical personnel are attending to those injured in the collision, providing necessary treatment and care.
Regrettably, two of the four individuals who were critically injured and transferred to Peshawar for advanced treatment succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that all those involved in the accident were residents of Miran Shah.
The driver of the trailer truck has been apprehended by the police and is receiving treatment for injuries.
