Rizwan’s Unbeaten Knock Leads Sultans Against Qalandars
LAHORE: In the 16th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, held at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, half-centuries by captain Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Ghulam propelled Multan Sultans to a commanding score against Lahore Qalandars.
After being asked to bat, the Sultans posted a total of 185/3 in their 20 overs, boosted by a pivotal fourth-wicket stand between Rizwan and Ghulam.
The innings began cautiously for the visitors, but opener Yasir Khan accelerated the scoring with a six and a four before being dismissed by a Qalandars’ pacer.
Yasir contributed 24 runs from 18 balls, including three fours and a six.
Rizwan then formed brief partnerships with Usman Khan and Shai Hope, who added 18 off 14 balls and 9 off 9 balls, respectively.
With the score at 70/3 after 10.1 overs, Kamran Ghulam joined Rizwan, and together they spearheaded the Sultans’ recovery.
The pair constructed an unbeaten 115-run partnership for the fourth wicket, demonstrating skillful batting against the Qalandars’ strong bowling attack.
Rizwan remained the highest scorer for the Sultans with an unbeaten 76 from 48 deliveries, featuring six fours and three sixes, while Ghulam scored 52 not out from 31 balls, hitting two fours and four sixes.
For the Qalandars, Tom Curran, Haris Rauf and Daryl Mitchell each claimed one wicket.
