Pakistan’s Tour of Bangladesh Finalized
LAHORE: Sources have confirmed that the tentative schedule for Pakistan’s T20 tour to Bangladesh has been completed. The national squad is slated to arrive in Dhaka on July 18 for a series of three T20I matches.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formulated the preliminary itinerary and communicated it to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources.
The T20I series is planned to commence on July 20, with subsequent matches set for July 22 and 24.
All three games will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, situated in Mirpur, Dhaka.
This tour was arranged during discussions between high-ranking officials from the PCB and BCB during the ICC Champions Trophy.
Following the T20 series against Bangladesh, the Pakistani team will proceed to the West Indies.
There, they are scheduled to participate in a three-match T20I series against the West Indies, commencing on July 31 in the United States. Following this, they will also compete in a One Day International (ODI) series against the same team.
In a related event, the third T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh took place recently at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Pakistan achieved a decisive victory over Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second T20I, thereby securing an insurmountable 2-0 advantage in the three-match series.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Pakistan achieved a total of 201/6 in their 20 overs.
Despite the early loss of opener Saim Ayub, wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris (41 off 25) and Sahibzada Farhan (74 off 41) stabilized the innings with a significant 103-run partnership for the second wicket. Farhan’s innings included four boundaries and six sixes.
After their dismissal, captain Salman Ali Agha (19 off 12) and Hasan Nawaz maintained the momentum with a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Hasan concluded the innings unbeaten with 51 off 26 deliveries, hitting two fours and three sixes.
In response, Bangladesh’s chase faced difficulties after a promising beginning. They quickly reached 38/0 in three overs, with Tanzid Hasan contributing 33 off 19 balls.
However, a collapse caused by Haris Rauf and Faheem Ashraf led to a score of 77/7 within 10 overs.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib showed resilience with 50 off 31 balls, including five sixes, but lacked support from other players. Eventually, the team was bowled out for 144 in 19 overs.
Pakistan’s bowling attack performed well as a unit, with Abrar Ahmed taking 3/19 in four overs.
Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah, and Saim Ayub each took a wicket.
