PCB to Relocate Biomechanics Lab to National Cricket Academy
In a move to improve resources for refining bowling techniques, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opted to transfer its biomechanics lab from a Lahore-based university to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), sources said on Monday.
Insiders suggest the transfer should be finalized in the coming weeks.
An existing structure on the NCA grounds is undergoing final construction, and the lab will be moved upon completion of remaining tasks.
The ICC-approved biomechanics lab of the PCB is essential for tracking and enhancing the actions of bowlers.
Once fully functional at the NCA, the facility will offer thorough analysis and corrective solutions for players all in one location.
A comprehensive modernization strategy has been developed by PCB’s Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, to equip the lab with cutting-edge technology.
The biomechanics lab began eight years prior in partnership with a local university. The relocation to the NCA seeks to centralize resources and optimize performance initiatives.
Earlier this year in June, Aaqib Javed, Director of High Performance, verified during a press briefing that the biomechanics lab would be moved from the local university to the NCA in Lahore.
He stated that they are reintroducing development into the academies and modernizing all facilities, including the establishment of a biomechanics lab at the academy.
He added that the upgraded setup will include modern training tools and software to boost player performance.
