ISLAMABAD: A delegation comprising under-training officers of Sindh Police from the National Police Academy (NPA) visited Safe City Islamabad as part of their academic study tour. The delegation was warmly welcomed by senior officials of the Islamabad Police.
During the visit, SSP Safe City Muhammad Iqbal Khan, along with the Assistant Director Safe City Islamabad, briefed the delegation and provided them with a guided tour of key operational areas, including the Police Operations Hall, Online Women Police Station, Safe City Web TV, and the Wireless Control Room.
The visitors were given in-depth insights into the significance and functionality of the Command and Control Centre, which serves as the technological backbone of law enforcement operations in the capital.
The delegation also explored the core infrastructure of Safe City Islamabad, including the advanced surveillance camera system, and was briefed on its operational procedures, effectiveness in crime prevention, and real-time monitoring capabilities.
Officers were informed that the Safe City project leverages modern digital technologies to enhance public safety. Key components include the Emergency Control Centre, the Dispatch Control Centre, the E-Challan System, and the “Pukar-15” emergency helpline.
The delegation learned how facial recognition cameras installed at Islamabad’s entry and exit points assist in identifying suspicious individuals and potential threats, contributing significantly to public security and criminal apprehension.
Acknowledging the effectiveness and innovation of the Islamabad Police, the visiting officers expressed their appreciation for the sophisticated systems and professional conduct of the Safe City team. They extended special thanks to the Director General of Safe City Islamabad and his team for organizing a highly informative and successful visit.
