Sindh Govt Issues Code of Conduct for Collection of Hides on Eid ul Adha
The Sindh government has implemented a formal set of guidelines for the gathering of sacrificial animal hides during Eid ul Adha. These regulations impose stringent rules concerning permissions, displays, and the overall conduct of organizations and individuals involved.
Approval and Eligibility
As per the directive released on Thursday, authorization must be secured from the relevant Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner to engage in hide collection.
- Only officially registered welfare organizations, religious seminaries (madaris), and charitable entities are eligible to receive permission for hide collection.
- The directive explicitly forbids banned organizations from participating in the activity under any circumstances.
Restrictions on Public Displays
The notification also prohibits setting up collection camps or displaying banners in public or private areas.
- Strict limitations are in place regarding public announcements and visual displays.
- To maintain order and prevent potential misuse during the religious holiday, the use of loudspeakers and the placement of flags on buildings are not permitted.
Authorization and Enforcement
Individuals with permission must have their official authorization documents on their person while collecting hides and be prepared to show them to authorities upon request. Failure to comply may result in legal consequences.
Arms Licenses Suspended
The Sindh government has put a hold on all arms licenses from the 10th to the 12th of Zil Hajj. Any permissions to carry weapons are revoked during this time.
Enforcement Authority
Local Station House Officers (SHOs) have been authorized to take immediate action against anyone who violates the code of conduct to ensure that the rules are followed.
