Sindh Announces Public Holidays for Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH)
The Sindh government has declared public holidays on September 5th and 6th in observance of Eid Milad un Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
According to an official statement, all governmental offices and academic institutions throughout the province will be closed for these two days.
Previously, the federal government had announced September 6th (Saturday) as a public holiday to commemorate 12th Rabi ul Awal, marking Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH).
Last week, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad made the announcement after the Rabi ul Awal moon was not sighted.
Maulana Azad informed reporters that no verified reports of moon sightings were received from any part of the country, noting that most areas experienced overcast conditions.
Muslims worldwide celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known as Eid Milad un Nabi, on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, which is the third month of the Islamic calendar.
The day is observed with public processions, gatherings, and discussions highlighting the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Karachi Traffic Police has prohibited heavy vehicles in the city on Rabi ul Awal 11 and 12 due to the various processions and events planned.
The traffic police stated that considering the rallies scheduled on roads and connecting routes, this decision was made to prioritize the safety of the public.
