Sindh Govt Approves Stipends for Girls’ Education

The Sindh government has sanctioned stipends for over 2,700 female students, enabling them to pursue education at more than 90 universities nationwide. This initiative was announced in a formal notification by the School Education and Literacy Department.

According to the official statement, the stipends will be available to female students in grades six, nine, and ten.

Eligibility criteria stipulate that only those female students maintaining an attendance record exceeding 60% over a five-month period (August to December) during the 2024-25 academic year will qualify for the financial assistance, the notification further clarified.

The announcement also specified that only female students enrolled in schools under the administrative oversight of the Schools Education and Literacy Department of the Sindh government, and possessing a valid SEMIS Code, are eligible to apply.

Sindh government representative Samita Afzal mentioned that the authorities have also continued scholarships for 4,877 current beneficiaries.

“This year, the Sindh Education Endowment Fund will support a total of 7,600 students,” she stated.

The Sindh Education Endowment Fund aims to offer financial support to deserving and talented students pursuing higher education.

“To date, almost 40,000 students have gained assistance from the Sindh Education Endowment Fund,” Afzal noted.

Furthermore, the Sindh government is also extending scholarship opportunities to students from the province who are attending Oxford University, she added.
