UAE Ambassador’s Farewell Meeting with PM Shehbaz Sharif

The departing Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi, made a valedictory visit to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, which included Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, PM Shehbaz acknowledged the ambassador’s successful term in Pakistan. He also conveyed gratitude for the ambassador’s efforts in reinforcing the ties between Pakistan and the UAE.

The Prime Minister commended the guidance of UAE President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in enhancing Pakistan-UAE relations. He emphasized that these strengthened bonds mirrored the enduring and fraternal connections between the two nations.

Furthermore, he voiced his satisfaction that in recent times, both countries have undertaken significant measures to deepen these connections. These include the visits of UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the assembly of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission, and the recently implemented agreement on visa waivers for diplomatic and official passport holders.

PM Shehbaz stated that he anticipates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Pakistan soon, believing it will provide further stimulus to the relationship between the two countries.

In response, Ambassador Al Zaabi expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister for the farewell meeting. He conveyed his deep appreciation for the assistance and camaraderie he experienced throughout his nine-year tenure in Pakistan, both from the government and the people.

Recognizing the unique bonds of friendship between the leaders and citizens of both nations, he affirmed his dedication to promoting stronger Pakistan-UAE relations going forward.
