PM Sharif Praises Police for Sacrifices and Professionalism

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday conveyed his profound appreciation for the police force, acknowledging their dedication to maintaining law and order. He commended their effective efforts in countering terrorism through continuous operations targeting those aiming to destabilize the nation.

In his address commemorating Police Martyrs’ Day, the Prime Minister remarked, “Today, we honour the courageous men and women of our police force who, irrespective of challenging conditions, diligently perform their duties, away from their families, and give their lives to uphold law and order throughout the country. We also pay tribute to the families of our fallen heroes, who have made immense sacrifices for the nation’s safety.”

He highlighted the significant role of the police in the fight against terrorism, stating that “Over 8,000 police personnel have given the ultimate sacrifice for the country in the war on terrorism. As a frontline defense, they have protected countless children from becoming orphans, even as their own children have been left without parents.”

The Prime Minister recalled the recent martyrdom of five Elite Force soldiers during an operation against criminals in Rahim Yar Khan, emphasizing that “These brave individuals, along with thousands of other police martyrs, are a source of immense pride for us.”

Furthermore, he acknowledged the global recognition of the Pakistan Police’s capabilities, noting that “The Pakistan Police has showcased its expertise globally, with the medals and awards received at the recent World Police Summit 2025 serving as evidence of their competence. The integration of modern technology in policing to foster public peace and effectively prevent crime is truly encouraging, as it enhances the safety and security of our citizens.”

PM Sharif also stated, “The police have played a crucial role in establishing anti-terrorism units in all provinces, conducting joint operations and collaborating with the Pakistan Army and Rangers, particularly during natural disasters and emergencies. This has led to a more positive public perception of the police and significantly improved their overall performance.”

He noted that the police have carried out numerous operations over the years to disrupt the plans of those seeking to sow discord and instability in Pakistan. He concluded, “From the coasts of Gwadar to the high mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, every police officer committed to safeguarding the country is a source of honor for me and for the entire nation.”
