Prime Minister Sharif Extends Eid Greetings to World Leaders

On Sunday, Prime Minister Sharif connected with global leaders, including Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, through telephone conversations to share warm wishes for Eid ul Adha.

Discussion with President Erdogan of Turkiye

During the call with President Erdogan, PM Shehbaz extended heartfelt greetings to the Turkish leader and the people of Turkiye.

Both leaders committed to expediting the execution of crucial decisions made during their recent meetings earlier in the year.

The Prime Minister noted that this would enhance bilateral collaboration, particularly in commerce and investments.

Referring to their recent engagements in Istanbul and Lachin, the Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan for Turkiye’s strong support to Pakistan during the recent tensions with India.

He stated that this act has resonated positively with the people of Pakistan and added to the relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye.

Both leaders reaffirmed their steadfast support for their respective core interests and addressed recent regional and global developments, including the situation in Gaza.

President Erdogan appreciated PM Shehbaz’s Eid greetings and reciprocated these sentiments for the people of Pakistan, also reiterating Turkiye’s support for Pakistan on significant issues.

Discussion with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan

Separately, PM Shehbaz telephoned Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to extend Eid greetings to him and the citizens of Kazakhstan.

During their conversation, the two leaders voiced their satisfaction with the positive advancement in bilateral relations.

They also reinforced their dedication to expanding cooperation between their nations to its maximum potential.

They analyzed the present state of bilateral affairs and exchanged perspectives on upcoming collaborations.

The leaders also discussed the recent Pakistan-India situation, with the Prime Minister briefing President Tokayev on Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and security.

PM Shehbaz expressed anticipation for President Tokayev’s visit to Pakistan later this year, during which significant agreements and MoUs are expected to be signed.

President Tokayev thanked PM Shehbaz for the Eid call and conveyed warm regards to the people of Pakistan, mentioning his planned visit to Pakistan before year-end.

Eid Greetings to Oman’s Sultan

PM Shehbaz also conveyed Eid greetings to Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Oman in all areas.

Both leaders prayed for unity within the Muslim Ummah, particularly concerning the situation in Gaza.

The Prime Minister acknowledged Oman’s stance during the recent tensions with India and appreciated its support for de-escalation and dialogue.

PM Shehbaz reiterated his invitation to the Sultan for an official visit to Pakistan, which was accepted. The Sultan also invited the Prime Minister to visit Oman.
